Amex Business Gold Changes

πŸ’΅ Annual fee increase

The annual fee is going up on 2/1/2024
$295 ➑️ $375 😭

😬 4x category changes

The Amex Business Gold earns 4x points on your top two category spend in the statement period. There are a few changes to those categories.

Wireless service provider (NEW Category)
Transit (NEW Category )
Restaurants
Gas
Advertising
Select Electronic Stores
Flights booked directly from airlines (expires 2/1/24)
Shipping purchases (express 2/1/24)

If your business does a lot of shopping, I recommend shifting spend to this card.

πŸ“±Adding Cellphone Protection

Additionally, Amex will be adding cellphone protection. It covers theft and damage for up to $800 per claim with a $50 deductible per claim, and a limit of up to two claims per 12-month period.

βž• More points earned on Amex Travel

Amex Business Gold will now earn 3x on all flights and hotels booked via Amextravel.com. Not that useful since I recommend booking directly with the airline as much as possible.

πŸ›‘ Removing 25% Airline Bonus (rebate)

The 25% Airline Bonus rebate when using points in the Amex Travel Portal will be removed effective February 1, 2024.

πŸ€¦πŸ»β€β™‚οΈ More Credits to Keep Track Of

Amex Business Gold will be adding a $20 monthly credit to be used at Fedex, Grubhub, or office supply stores, and a monthly $12.95 monthly credit for Walmart+

This painting sold for $8 million and 2,478 everyday investors profited

When the painting by master Claude Monet (you may have heard of him) was bought for $6.8 million and sold for a cool $8 million just 631 days later, investors in the offering received their share of the net proceeds.

All thanks to Masterworks, the award-winning platform for investing in blue-chip art. To date, every single one of Masterworks’ 15 sales has returned a profit to investors. With 3 recent sales, Masterworks investors realized net annualized returns of 17.6%, 21.5% and 35%.

How does it work? Simple: Masterworks does all of the heavy lifting like finding the painting, buying it, storing it, and eventually selling it. It files each offering with the SEC so that nearly anyone can invest in highly coveted artworks for just a fraction of the price of the entire piece.

Shares of every offering are limited, but Max Miles Points readers can skip the waitlist with this exclusive link.

Past performance is not indicative of future returns. Investing involves risk. See disclosures at masterworks.com/cd
