Virgin Atlantic 33% Off Award Flights

Virgin Atlantic and Virgin Red offer a 33% discount on award tickets for flights booked by November 27th. While the points rates for Virgin Atlantic flights are reasonable, it’s important to note that taxes and fuel charges can be high.

For example, flying from JFK to LHR costs around 32,000 points one way. However, the taxes and fees amount to approximately $900 or more.

Similarly, you can fly from the U.S. to London for under 10,000 points, but the taxes and fees will still be quite high.

Therefore, while the discounted rates may be appealing for those who wish to fly with Virgin Atlantic, it’s important to consider the additional costs of taxes and fees.

It’s worth noting that almost all credit card points, such as Chase, Amex, Citi, Capital One, and Bilt, can be transferred to Virgin Atlantic. This provides plenty of options for transferring points, however keep in mind the taxes and fees associated with these transfers may not always be worth it.

Two Bilt Bonuses to Earn More Bilt Points

The first offer is if you visit a participating Bilt Dining Restaurant, you can earn 10X points through December 1st. Pay with any eligible card linked to your Bilt Wallet at a participating Bilt Dining restaurant in the Bilt Rewards app.

This offer is available in select cities, so check your Bilt app to see which cities are participating.

Southwest Gift Card at Costco / Sam’s club

Earn Amex Points with Rakuten

If you’re doing any online shopping, you need to be using a shopping portal. My favorite shopping portal is Rakuten because you can earn Amex Points instead of cash back.

$10 in cash back on Rakuten can be converted to 1,000 Amex points. When you see 16% cash back on Rakuten, that means it’s 16x Amex points that you’ll earn from Rakuten — on TOP of the points you’ll earn from having the credit card. If you’re doing a lot of online shopping this weekend, this is a great way to earn extra points.
